多くのビジネスマンと観光客が行き交う浜松町の新名所。国際的な玄関口として、東京らしさを自然に感じられる雰囲気とするために、昔から東京で受け継がれてきた江戸の光の感性を用いた照明計画を策定した。
日本では古くから行燈や提灯を代表とする優しい光を大切にしてきた。とりわけ江戸・東京では大きな提灯が好まれてきたことから、大通りに面した象徴的な大壁面を現代の大提灯に見立て、優しく照らし出すことに注力した。
大階段では2段手摺を巧みに利用。下段の手摺からは足元を照らし、上段の手摺からは横向きに光を出すことによって階段横の緑の大壁面を照らし出している。光によって安心感が生まれているため、人々は階段の昇降に不安なく植栽の表情を間近に楽しむことができる。
This multipurpose facility connected to Hamamatsucho Station, a rail hub that links Tokyo International Airport to central Tokyo, has become a new landmark in this community considered by many to be Tokyo’s “front door.” The goal of this project was to foster a feeling of “stepping into” Tokyo, so the lighting plan utilized a delicate approach that has been passed down in Tokyo for a very long time.
In Japan, gentle lights can be seen in paper-walled foot-lamps and hanging lanterns. Since large-sized lanterns are preferred in Tokyo, we approached a large wall facing the main street as a modern-day lantern and focused on gently illuminating it horizontally in uniform brightness.
Lights installed on the lower bar of a double-bar handrail illuminate the steps of the grand staircase, while lights on the upper bar provide lateral lighting to illuminate hedges planted alongside the staircases. With the sense of safety that the light provides, people are able to enjoy the greenery up close without worry.
白領和遊客熙熙攘攘交織的新熱點場所。作為代表日本的世界級迎賓處，讓到此的人們感受屬於東京的自然氛圍，
制作了具有歷史感的江戶時代之光的照明方案。
自古以來日本就很喜愛提燈及燈籠散發出來柔和的光。江戶・東京的時候大燈籠特別受歡迎，以此為設計原點，把
面向主幹道路的建築面傾力打造成現代版的大燈籠，發散出柔和的光暈。
利用大階梯旁高低2段扶手。下端的扶手照腳下，上端的則橫向發光，為壹旁的大面綠植墻帶去照明。燈光帶來的
安心感，打消了人們對階梯升降的擔心，同時提供了植物帶來的愉悅感。
